Ashuganj Fertilizer Factory resumes production after 11 months

After a long shutdown of more than 11 months, urea fertilizer production has resumed at the Ashuganj Fertilizer Factory in Brahmanbaria.
Production began at the factory from 8:30 pm on Thursday, said the factory's Managing Director Pradeep Kumar Nath.
However, production is going on slowly due to low gas pressure. Basically, 40-42 bar pressure is required for full-fledged fertilizer production. Currently, 30-34 bar is available.
According to fertilizer factory sources, the Ashuganj Fertilizer Factory produces about 1,100 tons of urea fertilizer every day. However, due to gas shortage, the authorities announced the closure of the factory's production activities from February 21. Later, gas supply started from November 15 last year. Finally, after a long process, the factory resumed production on Thursday night.
Ashuganj Fertilizer Factory Managing Director Pradeep Kumar Nath said that the production process started after the gas supply started. However, production started from Thursday night after going through several stages. Once the gas problem is completely resolved, production will also accelerate.
