Sexual harassment: Dr. Ferdous's medical license cancelled
USA Bureau
Dr.Ferdous Khandaker of New York, who has become a 'Corona hero' in far away Bangladesh, beyond the boundaries of the community through false propaganda, his 'Medical License' has been revoked.
Jackson Heights - based doctor Dr Ferdous has pledged to retire from the profession in July to settle a lawsuit filed by several young women fed up with sexual harassment in the name of treatment.
In view of that, New York State Department of Health's Board of Professional Medical Conduct (BPMC) has issued guidelines on July 24 which came into effect on October 15.
The doctor, who moved from 37th Avenue to Broadway, admitted in his affidavit that he would not be able to prove the allegations false. It should be noted that Ferdous Khandkar, son of Devidwar, Comilla, was engaged in medical profession in New York from June 21, 2002. In 2020, allegations were raised that he behaved unethically with the patient for no reason. In this case filed in Queens Supreme Court by 5 young women, Dr. Ferdous Khandkar's description of Lamptyya was presented - which was also published in several mainstream newspapers in New York at the time.
It is mentioned there that Ferdous Khandkar has been touching their chest, buttocks and private parts for several years. Ferdous Khandkar did not hesitate to remove some people's clothes and touch their chests. As they were under 14 at the time, they were embarrassed to make a direct complaint. Parents of these children want to keep everything under control due to social shame.
The victims of Ferdous Khandkar's cruel, unprofessional behavior are now adults and mature enough to seek justice for those atrocities - so that no one else will be a victim of such violence. After filing this suit, Ferdous Khandkar filed a defamation suit against the opposite complainants. The purpose of this case was to stop the complainants. But that was not possible. Many others, including young women, have mentioned Ferdous Khandkar's uncivilized behavior on social media and demanded severe punishment for him.
A 23-year-old woman alleged in the case that she went to Ferdous Khandkar for a blood test. He was then taken to Ferdous Khandkar's Khas Kamra. It was informed that before the blood test, his whole body should be examined. There the young woman was asked to take off her clothes.
Embarrassed by this, the young woman tried to stop it and was not able to. After that, it is mentioned in the case that he joked in the name of examination by keeping the stethoscope on the open chest. Not only that, another 24-year-old woman mentioned that Ferdous Khandkar had molested her despite her objections by removing her bra.
Ferdous Khandkar is said to have withdrawn from the medical profession with the intention of living on a bond so as not to indulge in such evil deeds in life. But on November 2 the sign on the wall of his Broadway chamber read, 'Retiring Physician Ferdous Khandkar'; Above it is written 'Please welcome Lavina Singh, MD' and her picture.
Ferdous Khandkar's phone number is there. In other words, this former doctor resorted to fraud despite complying with the conditions of paying the bond. Expatriates say that Ferdous Khandkar has not retired, he has pledged to stay away from the medical profession forever to avoid punishment. The concerned department has taken away his license.
According to the investigation, the case filed by admitting the complaint of uncivil treatment with the patient does not end with the loss of the license.
The case will now be launched more vigorously. It is a criminal offence. This former doctor will have to pay a heavy fine if he is found guilty on the evidence.
Besides, almost everyone has health insurance so there is no need for free treatment. Despite this, he presented himself as a 'corona hero' in the media hired for special purposes.
