School girl killed by truck in Fatikchhari

A student passenger of a battery-operated auto-rickshaw was killed after being hit by a sand-carrying truck in Fatikchhari.
3 more people were injured in this incident. The accident took place on Thursday at around 1:00 pm at Ward No. 3, Paindong Kanchannagar Road, Kanchannagar Union.
Deceased Tanya Akhtar (14) is the daughter of Jamal Uddin of Dhurung Firni village of Ward No. 1 of Kanchannagar Union and a class 10 student of Kanchannagar Bhumukhi High School. The injured are the victim's mother Fatema Begum, sister Selina and battery-operated autorickshaw driver Ahmad Hossain.
According to eyewitnesses, the accident took place when a sand-carrying truck hit their auto-rickshaw on their way to the doctor with their mother and elder sister. When the locals rescued them and took them to the Upazila Health Complex, the doctors on duty declared Tanya Akhter dead.
Dr. Upazila Health Complex emergency department doctor. Tamanna Tabassum JC said one person injured in the road accident was declared dead.
SI Mazharul Islam of Fatikchh police station said that a student was killed after being hit by a sand-carrying truck. Legal action will be taken in this case.
