The oath recitation by lakhs of voices for social reconstruction in the July Reawakening was held with due dignity at 10 a.m on Saturday in Faridpur.
The event was virtually inaugurated at the Depuyy Commissioner’s Conference Room by Sharmin S. Murshid, Advisor to the Ministry of Social Welfare and the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs of the interim government.
The event was organized by the Faridpur District Administration, District Social Services Office, and the Department of Women Affairs.
Presided over by ASM Ali Ahsan, Deputy Director of the District Social Services Office, and conducted by SM Sujauddin Rashed, City Social Services Officer, the event included speeches by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md. Sohrab Hossain, Superintendent of Police of Faridpur Abdul Jalil, Civil Surgeon of Faridpur Mahmudul Hasan, UNO Nusrat Jahan, Deputy Director of the District Department of Women Affairs Mashuda Hossain, veteran social worker and educationist Professor M.A. Samad, Professor Sheikh Abdus Samad, Metropolitan BNP Convener A.F.M. Kaiyum Jangi, Central Shura member of Jamaat-e-Islami Professor Abdut Tawab, Convener of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement Kazi Riaz, and Executive Director of SDC Kazi Ashraful Hasan.
Officials from various government and non-government institutions and general students were also present.
The speakers said that to realize the objective of the mass uprising of students and people in July-August 2024, everyone must work together for the country. They emphasized the need to build a discrimination-free, happy, and prosperous Bangladesh by honoring the blood of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the movement.
