Kishoreganj AL office turned into public toilet, mural vandalised

The anti- discrimination students movement and angry people have declared the district Awami League (AL) Office a public toilet and wrote 'Public Toilet' on the broken wall there. The incident took place in the town on Wednesday night at 11 pm.

Eyewitnesses said that Awami League office on Station Road in the town was set on fire and 'Public Toilet' was written in large letters on the wall.

Later, the angry students and public standing there declared it a 'Public Toilet'. Then, the mural of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was vandalized in the premises of the Freedom Fighters Complex in the town's kharamputti area.

Ashraf Ali Sohan, one of anti-discrimination students leader in Kishoreganj, told The New Nation that, Sheikh Hasina is trying to create chaos in Bangladesh by fleeing to India. The banned Chhatra League is distributing leaflets in different places. House number Batrish in Dhanmondi is being demolished in protest against Sheikh Hasina's speech from India. This program is being held in Kishoreganj in continuation of that.

Ikram Hossain, chief coordinator in Kishoreganj, said, the killer Sheikh Hasina has no remorse even after killing thousands of people.

OC of Kishoreganj model Police Station, Abdullah -Al- Mamun said, "The situation here is normal now."

The angry students said they were angered by the announcement of Sheikh Hasina's speech at the Chhatra League's virtual event. The aim of their movement is to destroy fascist symbols.
