
Jamuna Fertilizer Factory stops production again after 4 days of operation

The factory authorities have stopped production again due to a mechanical fault in the ammonia plant at Jamuna Fertilizer Factory, the country's largest urea fertilizer manufacturer located in Tarakandi, Sarishabari, Jamalpur. The factory authorities took this decision on Wednesday evening. The matter was confirmed by the factory's MD A.S.M. Mosle Uddin.
It is learnt that the production of Jamuna Fertilizer Factory was stopped for more than 13 months due to gas shortage. Production started after receiving gas connection on the afternoon of February 23. After 4 days of operation, a mechanical fault occurred in the valve of the ammonia plant after 7 pm on Wednesday. As a result, the Jamuna Fertilizer Factory authorities stopped production again due to mechanical fault that night.
In this regard, Jamuna Fertilizer Factory Managing Director (MD) A.S.M. Mosley Uddin said, "The factory's production was stopped on Wednesday night due to a mechanical fault in the ammonia planter valve. We hope to repair the faulty valve and resume production very soon."
