Demand to name a hall in the medical college after 'Shaheed' Monir to commemorate Monir's contribution and Demanding government jobs and rehabilitation for his family Human chain and protest rally by Rangamati district branch of the Chittagong Hill Tracts Students' Council (PCCP).

A human chain and protest rally was held in front of the gate of Rangamati Medical College at 10 am on Thursday.

Monir Hossain was brutally murdered in a terrorist attack by the Pahari Chhatra Parishad (PCP), a student organization of the Chittagong Hill Tracts' extremist communal terrorist organization JSS, during a joyous procession to launch the Rangamati Medical College on January 10, 2015. In return for his sacrifice, a medical college was established in Rangamati.

The protest rally was chaired by Rangamati District President Tajul Islam Taj and moderated by Municipal President Md. Parvez Mosharraf Hossain. The central chairman of the Chittagong Hill Tracts Citizens' Council PCNP, Kazi Mujibur Rahman, spoke at the rally. PCCP Rangamati District Advisor Kamal Uddin, Municipal General Secretary Hiru Talukder, Parbatya Chittagong Chhatra Parishad (PCCP) Central Publicity Secretary Shahidul Islam, PCCP Rangamati District General Secretary Md. Khalilur Rahman, Vice-President Alamgir Hossain, Organizing Secretary Mizanur Rahman, Municipal General Secretary Zahidul Islam Roni, Organizing Secretary Riazul Islam Babu, etc.

At the rally, the PCCP Rangamati district branch of the Chittagong Hill Tracts Students' Counil demanded that a hall of the Medical College be immediately named after 'martyr' Monir Hossain. also strongly demanded the rehabilitation of his family. On the same day, Jamal Hossain, who was seriously injured in the attack by JSS terrorists, should be compensated and the activities of the permanent campus of the Medical College should be started immediately, otherwise the PCCP will be forced to protest.
