Daulatdia naval police arrested two people with dredgers

Daulatdia Naval Police arrested two people along with one dredger for illegally extracting sand in Alokdia Jamuna river of Shibaloy Upazila of Manikganj.
The operation was conducted on Wednesday noon.
According to naval police sources, under the overall supervision and direction of Faridpur Naval Police Superintendent Md Abdullah Al Mamun and Daulatdia Naval Police Outpost In-charge Md Emran Mahmud Tuhin and SI Md Masud Rana, SI Mehdi Hasan Apoorva Sangyi Force along with secret information from Manikganj districtThey conducted the operation after hearing the news of illegal extraction of sand by dredgers in Yamuna River near Tarkhamba of Alokdia Char of Shivaloy Upazila. 1 dredger and two people were arrested in the operation.
The arrested are Md Sahabuddin Khan (50) son of Abdul Mannan of Machgazi area of Mehendiganj upazila of Barisal district and Md Ariful Islam Helal (35) son of deceased Aftab Molla of Rajdharpur area of Baliakandi upazila of Rajbari.
Md. Emran Mahmud Tuhin, In-charge of Daulatdia Naval Police Outpost, said that the operation was conducted on the basis of secret information. The seized dredger is in our custody and a regular case under Balumhal and Soil Management Act has been registered against the arrested at Shivaloy police station.
