6 journalists of Chandpur awarded on investigative journalism

For the first time, six journalists received the Investigative Journalism Award-2024 organized by the Chandpur Press Club on Wednesday night.
Cash, honorarium and certificates were given to 6 winning journalists in various categories on investigative journalism at the Chandpur Press Club premises.
The awardees are - journalist Mohammad Habib Ullah for the report published in the local newspaper, Moniruzzaman Bablu for the report published in the national newspaper, now the district representative of the television Talha Zubair and the district representative of Channel Twenty-four Al Imran Shovon for the report broadcast on television, Muhammad Arif Billah for the serial report of the local newspaper and M Faridul Islam for the investigative report.
Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Mohsin Uddin was present as the chief guest at the event. In his speech, he called for maintaining consistency every year in such an event by the Chandpur Press Club to encourage journalists.
The Deputy Commissioner said, ‘Those who do wrong are afraid of journalists. And those who do not do wrong are not afraid.’
Among others, the event was addressed by Superintendent of Police Muhammad Abdur Rakib PPM, Chandpur District BNP President Sheikh Farid Ahmed Manik and Jamaat-e-Islami Chandpur District Branch Ameer Maulana Billal Hossain Miyaji.
After the award distribution and discussion, the guests participated in a cultural program under the chairmanship of Press Club President Shahadat Hossain Shanta and moderated by General Secretary Mahbubur Rahman Sumon.
