Former CoU Chhatra League convener assaulted, handed over to police

Mahmudur Rahman Masum, former convener of the banned organization Chhatra League’s Cumilla University branch, was beaten and handed over to the police by students and locals.
The incident occurred on Friday morning near Victoria College in Cumilla Sadar. Cumilla Kotwali Police Station OC Mohinul Islam confirmed the matter. He stated, "He has been arrested under previous cases. There are multiple cases against him related to attacks on students during the anti-discrimination student movement. He will be sent to court soon."
It is mentioned that Mahmudur Rahman Masum was accused of attacking students at the Student Movement Square adjacent to the university on July 29 of last year. Additionally, he is implicated in multiple other cases.
