The bi-annual conference of the Upazila branch of the Workers' Welfare Federation was held in Katiadi Bus Stand premises on Friday (January 11) afternoon.

It was chaired by the President of the Katiadi Upazila Branch Workers' Welfare Federation, Shahidul Islam Dulal, and moderated by General Secretary Zahirul Islam. Kishoreganj District Jamaat Ameer Professor Md. Ramjan Ali spoke as the chief guest.

Kishoreganj District Workers' Welfare Federation President Khaled Hasan Jummon spoke as the chief discussant.

The special guests who spoke were Prof Mozammel Haque Joarder, Ameer of Katiadi Upazila Jamaat and Chief Advisor of Katiadi Upazila Committee of Workers' Welfare Federation, Mahmudul Hasan, Secretary of Upazila Jamaat and Advisor of Upazila Committee of Workers' Welfare Federation, Mahfuzur Rahman, General Secretary of Kishoreganj District Workers' Welfare Federation, Professor Rafiqul Islam Khaled, Former Ameer of Katiadi Upazila Jamaat, Saidul Haque BSC, Advisor of Katiadi Branch of Workers' Welfare Federation, Md. Shafiqul Islam Morol, Former President of Upazila Workers' Welfare Federation and Former Vice Chairman of Katiadi Upazila Parishad, etc.

The speakers of the biennial conference called on the government to take timely decisions for the welfare of workers, including paying fair wages to workers on time, implementing Islamic labor policies and ending child labor.

Based on the opinions of the members present at the conference, the new committee of the Bangladesh Workers' Welfare Federation Katiadi Upazila branch was announced by the President of Kishoreganj District Workers' Welfare Federation, Khaled Hasan Jummon.
