A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Bangladesh Army University of Engineering & Technology (BAUET) and Lafarge Holcim Bangladesh Limited Company.

The MoU was signed by Registrar Lt. Col. K.F.A. Sohel (Retd.) on behalf of BAUET and Head of Technical Services, Fakhruddin Mohammad Khan on behalf of Lafarge Holcim Bangladesh Limited Company at a ceremony held recently.

The purpose of this agreement is to conduct collaborative research to increase awareness about sustainable construction materials, especially research on the use of sugar mill waste in concrete, cooperation in student internship programs and organizing regular seminars.

In addition, Fakhruddin Mohammad Khan spoke on behalf of the company at a seminar titled ‘Sustainability and Contribution to Cement Production Process’ on behalf of Lafarge Holcim Bangladesh Limited Company. Assistant Professor of the Department of Civil Engineering Dr. The welcome speech was delivered by Engineer Md. Zakir Hossain Khan, Head of Department, Associate Professor Dr. Engineer Md. Mahmudur Rahman.

The event was attended as the chief guest and the closing speech was delivered by the University Treasurer Colonel Md. Shawkat Hossain, psc (Retd).

Among others present at the event were Dean, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Prof Dr. Mohammad Nurul Islam, Dean, Faculty of Science and Humanities, Prof Dr. Md. Sazzad Hossain, Dean, Faculty of Law Professor Dr. Md. Faruk Hossain, Senior Executive (North Bengal Region) and Md. Rubel Haque Rony, Territory Sales Manager.
