The 'DUPS 4th Intra-University Photo Festival' organized by the Dhaka University Photographic Society (DUPS), started on Thursday at the TSC Premises, University of Dhaka, drawing photography enthusiasts from across the university.

The two-day festival features a diverse range of photographic works, interactive sessions, and discussions aimed at fostering creativity and artistic expression among students.

The festival was inaugurated by Professor Dr. Sayema Haque Bidisha, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Admin), University of Dhaka, who praised students for their dedication to creative pursuits and encouraged them to continue enhancing their skills. She also acknowledged the limitations in the university’s resources, apologizing that the administration could not provide as much support as they would like, but re-affirmed their commitment to backing student-led initiatives.

The exhibition showcases a variety of compelling photographs selected in two catagories; Open and Campus catagory. Visitors explored the displays, appreciating the unique perspectives presented by young photographers.

The festival is set to continue into its second day with several key events lined up. A Meet the Judges session featuring renowned photographers Shafiqul Alam Kiron and Saiful Huq Omi is scheduled for the afternoon, providing participants with an opportunity to gain insights from industry experts. The event will also feature a speech from invited guests, a prize and certificate distribution ceremony and a cultural evening.

The closing ceremony, which is going to be held on Friday will be attended by Professor Niaz Ahmed Khan, Vice Chancellor, University of Dhaka, as the Chief Guest, along with special guests Saifuddin Ahmed, Proctor, University of Dhaka; Dr. Abdullah-AL-Mamun, Moderator, DUPS; Professor Hasan A. Shafie, Advisor, DUPS; and Shehreen Amin Bhuiyan, Assistant Proctor, University of Dhaka.

With a strong turnout on its first day, the 'DUPS 4th Intra-University Photo Festival' continues to generate excitement and engagement among students.

The event is expected to conclude on Friday with a celebration of creativity and excellence in photography.
