Dulal Hossain Raju, Jaintapur (Sylhet)

A Bangladeshi youth has been killed by gunfire allegedly from Indian Khasia community at the Dumdumia border area in Bichnakandi, under Gowainghat Upazila of Sylhet.

The deceased has been identified as Sabuj Mia, 20, son of Abul Mia, a resident of Phitorgul Pahartoli village in Gowainghat.

According to local sources, the body of Sabuj Mia was found lying inside the Indian border about 200 yards from pillar number 1261 of the Damdamia border.

Later, locals informed the BGB and police.

Gowainghat Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sarkar Tofail Ahmed said Sabuj Mia's father Abul Hossain filed a general diary with the police station.
Police could not recover the body as it was inside India, he added.

Earlier on Thursday, another teenager from Sylhet was shot dead by Indian Khasias while attempting to cross the border illegally into India.
