6 houses out of 9 built inside forest in Mirzapur demolished; one acre land recovered

Six houses out of 9 built illegally inside the forest have been demolished and one acre of land has been recovered in a joint operation in Mirzapur, Tangail.
The houses were demolished using a demolition machine through a mobile court on Thursday.
The mobile court judge, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Masudur Rahman, along with his assistant, Forest Conservator Abusaleh, Divisional Forest Officer Abunaser Mohsin Hossain and army members of the Mirzapur army camp were present in the joint operation.
It is learned that a gang in the area had been illegally constructing houses in the Beltoil area of Azgana Union of Mirzapur Upazila for the past few months by occupying forest land.
After the Tangail Forest Division's Mirzapur Range Office learned about the matter, the Forest Department conducted a drive through a mobile court from noon to afternoon on Thursday.
During the drive, 6 houses out of nine houses built on the forest department's land were demolished with a demolition machine. In addition, one acre of land was recovered.
Assistant Commissioner (Land) Masudurab Rahman, the judge of the mobile court, told the media that such drives to recover government property will continue.
