Top terrorist arms maker Sohel arrested with Yaba in Sandwip

The top terrorist and arms maker, Md. Sohel Rana (36), has been arrested with drugs in a police operation in Sandwip, Chittagong.
According to police sources, a special operation was conducted in Ward No. 01 of Magadhara Union of Sandwip Upazila at 1:50 am on Saturday and he was arrested. The arrested Sohel Rana is a fugitive accused in the weapons case No. 02(08)25 of the upazila. He is a resident of Kachiar Bari area of Ward No. 05 of Sarikait Union. His father is Md. Khadmul Islam and mother is Nilufa Begum.
During the operation, 50 pieces of Yaba tablets were recovered from him by the police. According to the police, he has been involved in arms manufacturing, terrorist activities and drug dealing in the area for a long time.
OC of Sandwip Police Station said, “The arrested Sohel Rana is a fugitive accused in the arms case and a known terrorist. He has been arrested with narcotics. In addition to the arms case, the process of filing a new case against him under the Narcotics Control Act is underway.”
According to locals, the arrest of Sohel Rana is expected to reduce terrorist activities and drug trafficking in the area to some extent.
