The Tongi Government College unit of the Bangladesh Jatiotabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) organized a protest rally demanding justice for the murder of Jagannath University Chhatra Dal member Md. Jubaid Hossain. on Sunday afternoon.
Starting from the college premises and marching through the main roads around the college gate before returning to the campus. Leaders and activists from different levels of the Tongi Government College Chhatra Dal participated in the rally.
They strongly condemned Jubaid’s killing and demanded the immediate arrest and exemplary punishment of those responsible.
College Chhatra Dal Member Secretary Alaudin Sumon said that the student community is united against the ongoing oppression of the current government. He declared that the Chhatra Dal would continue its movement across the country until justice is served for Jubaid’s murder.
Addressing the concluding rally, College Chhatra Dal Convener Mehedi Hasan Arif said, “Jubaid was a dedicated activist in student politics. His killing once again proves that people holding differing opinions are not safe in this country under the government’s patronized terrorists.”
He further demanded the prompt arrest and exemplary punishment of Jubaid’s killers.
It is mentiloned that on Saturday night, Jubaid Hossain, a Jagannath University Chhatra Dal leader, was fatally injured in an attack by unidentified assailants in Noor Box Lane of Panir Pump Goli at Mahuttuli, Armanitola. His death has cast a shadow of grief over the leaders and activists of the Chhatra Dal and the broader BNP family.
