
Symbolic marathon in Munshiganj marking July-August Uprising Day

The Munshiganj District Administration organized a symbolic marathon to commemorate the July-August Mass Uprising Day observed by students and citizens on Friday.
The marathon began at the Service Window of the Deputy Commissioner’s office, passed through the District Shilpakala Academy and Super Market intersection (Shaheed Chattar), and continued to the Old Bus Stand (Allahu Chattar) before returning to the starting point.
Families of martyrs and those injured during the July-August uprising led the symbolic marathon. Around 200 people participated in the event.
The Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Fatema Tul Jannat attended the event as the chief guest. Also present were Superintendent of Police Muhammad Shamsul Alam Sarkar, Additional District Magistrate Md. Rezaul Karim, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Muhammad Musabberul Islam, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Md. Mahmudur Rahman Khondokar, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Sharif Ullah, Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mahbubur Rahman, Deputy Director of the Department of Youth Development Sheikh Md. Nasir Uddin, along with other district officials, heads of various government offices, representatives of civil society, students, teachers, and front-line fighters of the July-August Uprising.
