Raihan Habib, Convenor of the newly- formed committee of Tungipara Municipality Chhatra Dal, held a press conference protesting what he called false propaganda being spread against him on online.
Speaking at the Tungipara Upazila Press Club on Saturday , he described the incident as a conspiratorial act by a vested quarter.
Raihan Habib said that he came to know through online sources that, in the committee of Tungipara Municipality Chhatra League announced on July 26, 2019, his name had been listed as “Yen Munshi,” serving as Deputy Secretary for Relief and Disaster Management. He claimed he had never been aware of this and that all his official documents — national ID card, educational certificates, and birth certificate — bear the name Raihan Habib.
“If I had been involved with that Chhatra League committee, my real name would have been used,” he said. “To join a political organization, one must submit a biodata. Those spreading false propaganda in my name should show the biodata I submitted.”
Raihan Habib asserted that he had never been associated with Chhatra League or any other political committee.
The current municipality Chhatra Dal, he said, is his only political affiliation. “I have no documents under the name Yen Munshi,” he added. “I want to remain a soldier of the ideals of martyred President Ziaur Rahman.
