Police attack in Mirzaganj : Teachers form human chain to press home their demands

Teachers and employees of private educational institutions under the MPO held a protest march and human chain in Mirzaganj to protest against the 20% house rent of teachers' basic salary, 1,500 taka medical allowance, and 75% festival allowance for employees, as well as the police attack in front of the Press Club in Dhaka.
The human chain was observed for about an hour on the Bakerganj-Barguna highway in front of the Upazila Parishad on Tuesday morning.
Headmaster of Charkhali Cooperative Secondary School Md . Abdul Malek, President of Mirzaganj Upazila Teachers' Association and Headmaster of West Kakrabunia Girls' Secondary School, addressed the human chain.

Habibur Rahman, West Subidkhali Salehia Alim Madrasa Principal Itteja Hasan, Howlader Foundation Women's College Principal Md. Khabir Uddin, Mirzaganj Yaria Alim Madrasa Assistant Professor Md. Abdul Mannan Lotus, Bhajna Kadamtala Nuria Alim Madrasa Lecturer Md. Mahbubur Rahman Tuku, Bajita Secondary School Assistant Headmaster Md. Mizanur Rahman, West Subidkhali Salehia Alim Madrasa Assistant Prof Abdur Rahim Chan and Kalagachia Azmatia Dakhil Madrasa Computer Operator Md. Shahzada Roni.were present.
The speakers at the human chain said, the government is delaying the implementation of our just demands. The police have carried out a brutal attack on teachers in front of the National Press Club. The teachers who studied with them and got jobs in the police are the ones who are dragging the teachers out on the streets. No civilized nation can accept this. They demanded that those involved in this incident be brought to justice as soon as possible.
