Locals have formed a human chain demanding the construction of a bridge in the Mukhi Shah Miskin Bazar Ghat area of Mosakhali Union of Pagla Thana in Gafargaon Upazila.

Hundreds of people from different walks of life participated in this hour-long human chain on Thursday afternoon.

With the slogan "Our dream is our bridge", the Mukhi and Belab residents of Mosakhali Union organized a human chain demanding the construction of a bridge in the Mukhi Shah Miskin Bazar Ghat area.

Locals say that thousands of people from Gafargaon on this side of the Sutia River and Bhaluka Upazila on the other side are suffering indescribable suffering due to the lack of a bridge. There are famous markets, educational institutions and Shah Miskin Shrine on both sides. On the other side, Bhaluka's Birunia Bazar is an ancient business center with numerous educational institutions. On the other side, there are famous markets, educational institutions and Shah Miskin Shrine in Mosakhali Union of Gafargaon Upazila.

There is suffering and fear of accidents while crossing the river by boat. The only hope in the dry season is the shaky bamboo bridge. People on both sides have been waiting for ages for the bridge of their dreams.

This time, people on both sides are taking to the streets to form a human chain to demand this bridge. The organizers said that they will initially form a peaceful human chain and if their demands are not met, they will launch a strict program.

The human chain was addressed by prominent businessman Sohag Mia of Mukhi and Belab areas, teacher Noman Ahmed Riyad, social worker Md. Shafiq and student Hosna Ara.
