Woman killed, several hurt after bus overturns on Dhaka-Ctg highway

A woman, aged about 32, was killed after a bus of 'Star Line Paribahan' overturned on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway at Fakirhat area of Faujdarhat in Sitakunda.
After one-hour of frantic effort, Fire Service members rescued three passengers who trapped inside the bus.
The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.
The incident happened around 9am on Saturday. Several passengers trapped inside the bus.
Following the accident, huge tailback was created on both sides of the road. And the Chattogram-bound lane was closed for one and a half hours.
MK Monir, an eyewitness, said that the wheel of the bus got punctured and overturned on the road. After being hit by a divider, the bus fell on the Chattogram-bound lane from the Dhaka-bound lane.
Fire Service members with the help of locals rescued four passengers. They used two excavators for rescue operation.

Agrabad Fire Service's deputy director Abdur Razzaq said, "Local people rescued some passengers and took to nearby hospitals. Later, around 10am, Fire Service members rescued three male passengers and a body of a female one."
It was learnt that the bus, carrying 10-15 passengers, was going to Feni from the Barapole area of the Chattogram city.
