West Bengal notified about water treaty with Bangladesh : Indian govt source

The West Bengal government was informed about the Central’s government discussions with Bangladesh regarding Teesta water sharing and the Farakka Treaty, according to India Today TV.
The central government wrote to the West Bengal government on 24 July last year and sought their nominee in the committee for carrying out an internal review of the 1996 water treaty with Bangladesh, it reports quoting the government sources.
Earlier in the day, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and objected to unilateral discussions with Bangladesh on the water treaties.
