Liberation War Affairs Minister Ahmed Azam Khan said, the current government has started with absolutely nothing. Dr. Yunus brought it from minus to zero. We started from that zero. So there is not enough money in the government fund. Even then, we are starting various developmental activities.
He said this in response to questions from reporters at the inauguration ceremony of the bridge built over the Jhenai River in the Dapanajor area of Basail upazila in Tangail on Saturday (April 18) afternoon.
The minister said that BNP has started working for the welfare of the people since the formation of the government. As per the election promise, the distribution of farmer cards and family cards has already started. Considering the importance, the work of rural infrastructure development has also started.
Regarding the inaugurated bridge, the minister said, "This bridge will greatly facilitate people's transportation. We have started work on a four-lane road from Bhatkura to Nalua. In addition, we are thinking of building a bypass road to relieve traffic congestion in Basail Bazar. Rural towns are being given importance in the overall infrastructure development of the country." Was present at the time LGED Executive Engineer Mohammad Kamruzzaman,Upazila Executive Officer Aklima Begum, former joint secretary of the district BNP Abul Kashem, acting president of the upazila BNP Mamun Al Jahangir, general secretary Advocate Nur Nabi Abu Hayat Khan Nabu and others.
