Attempt to push 7 people into Mujibnagar border, blocked by BGB, villagers

Meherpur Correspondent

The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has tried to push 7 people into Bangladesh through the Mujibnagar border in Meherpur.

However, the attempt failed in the face of resistance from the BGB and local villagers. An attempt was made to push them into Bangladesh through the Nazirakona border in the upazila early on Monday (June 29).

Locals said that the BSF tried to push 7 people into Bangladesh from the direction of Patharghata village of Tehatta police station in Nadia district, India, at Main Pillar No. 110 of the international border. Nayek Subedar Mozammel Haque, commander of the Nazirakona BGB camp, said that the BSF members tried to push 7 people into Bangladesh.

However, in the face of resistance from the BGB and villagers, the BSF took them back from the zero line of the border. It is worth noting that the BSF has attempted to push-in several times at the Meherpur border this month.

On June 6, 6 people were tried to push-in at the Tentulbaria border, on June 19, 4 people were tried to push-in at the Khalpara border of Buripota union, on June 25, 7 people were tried to push-in at the Sheworatola border of Gangni upazila, 3 people were tried to push-in at the Dhala border and 2 people were tried to push-in at the Kazipur border.
