We have to work together to build non-communal country : DU VC Akhtaruzzaman

Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman recalled the sacrifices of language martyrs with deep respect and said that everyone should work from their respective positions to build a non-sectarian, humane and advanced society inspired by the spirit of immortal Ekushey.
He said this while inaugurating the cultural program organized jointly by Dhaka University Music Department and Dance Department at TSC Auditorium on the occasion of great Martyr Day and International Mother Language Day on Tuesday evening.
DU Music Department Chairman Dr. Chairperson of the Department of Dance, Monira Parveen, among others, was present on the occasion presided over by Debprasad Dan.
VC Professor Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman said, Amar Ekushey has taught people to realize their rights, protect their mother tongue and enrich civilization based on their own language and culture. The consciousness of 21 February 1952 is very significant not only for Bengali but also for the preservation of the mother tongue of all people worldwide.
The VC also said that everyone should work together to implement Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's determination to build a developed society based on information technology and knowledge by spreading the spirit of Ekush from generation to generation.
