All the ramparts of the city will be recovered and excavated and connected to Surma river and Surma river will be excavated. Excavating only City Corporation area will not do. Excavation should be done from the origin. Thanking former mayor Ariful Haque Chowdhury, he is cooperating with me sincerely. We will work with his 10 years of experience and he also informs me where he has hit obstacles.

Mayor Anwaruzzaman also said, "Save the city, save Sylhet" with the slogan "Save the city, save Sylhet". For the sake of Sylhet, we all agree regardless of party affiliation. People of Sylhet city voted for us. We are the people's representatives. We are accountable to the people. We will not accept that the city of Sylhet will be invaded for the sake of a few people and the people of the big city will suffer.

Calling on those who are occupying Canals, he said - Leave the canals on your own responsibility. Otherwise, we will take appropriate measures to recover the canals. No one will be exempted. We are committed to protecting the city of Sylhet, protecting the life and property of expatriates and protecting the industry in Sylhet. No squatter or terrorist will be spared.

Former Mayor Ariful Haque Chowdhury said, Sylhet is a city of political and religious harmony. For many years we have seen people in the city become waterlogged and goods destroyed. But it is not the responsibility of the City Corporation alone. Those who have canals, canals and some privately owned institutions including government institutions will welcome them if they leave them considering the citizens of the city, otherwise the current mayor will take legal action against them. Sylhet residents will be saved a lot from the flood if the rhymes are recovered.

He also said that compared to other city corporations of Bangladesh, Sylhet is far behind. The main reason for this is our lack of leadership. I believe the present mayor Anwaruzzaman Chowdhury has this leadership quality. He can take responsibility and develop Sylhet.

If the master plan of Sylhet City works according to the original place of origin, the area of the city can be excavated and fenced to protect the city, then it will be reduced. One problem at a time should be solved without delay. My trust Mayor Anwaruzzaman Chowdhury can do it. He is very dear and close to the Hon'ble Prime Minister. We expect a lot of development in Sylhet in next 4 years. Ariful Haque Chowdhury urged everyone who is more responsible and politicians to come forward for the sake of the city.
