Vitamin 'A' Plus Campaign' inaugurated in Goalando

Vitamin 'A' plus capsule feeding campaign has been inaugurated in Goalando upazila of Rajbari.
Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Farsim Tarannum Haque officially inaugurated the National Vitamin 'A' Plus Campaign at the Upazila Health Complex on Tuesday (December 12) morning.
At this time, the resident medical officer of the Upazila Health Complex Dr. Shariful Islam, EPI Officer Rafiqul Islam, Nursing Supervisor Mridula Biswas and others were present.
Goalando Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Farsim Tarannum Haque said that vitamin 'A' plus is being fed in a total of 97 centers in Goaland Upazila in this day-long campaign. Among them, a camp has been set up for Daulatdia sex village and floating children. Besides, vitamin 'A' plus capsules are being fed to children in community clinics and other government healthcare centers. This program will continue in EPI centers in other areas of the municipality and upazila.
He also said that vitamin 'A' plus helps in the normal growth of the body. Increases immunity and reduces the risk of infant mortality. Therefore, he called upon everyone to speed up this program.
Note that the target for children aged 6 months to 11 months is 2,100 and 12 months to 59 months is 13,650. A total of 97 centers including hospital permanent centers are feeding 'A' Plus capsules. Each child aged 6-11 months is given one blue vitamin 'A' plus capsule, each child aged 12-59 months is given one red vitamin 'A' plus capsule. This activity will continue from 8 am to 5 pm.
