Blankets have been distributed among helpless women under the initiative of Uttaran Foundation in Daulatdia Purvapara (Jaunpalli) at Goalando Upazila in Rajbari.

On Saturday noon, Additional Inspector General of Police (Additional IGP) and chairman of Uttaran Foundation, Habibur Rahman, distributed blankets as winter clothes to 1500 sex workers near sex village.

District Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration and Finance) in distributed winter clothes. Rajbari Superintendent of Police GM Abul Kalam Azad spoke as the chief guest under the direction of Rezaul Karim. Naval Police Dhaka Superintendent of Police Kazi Nusrat Edib Luna, Uttaran Foundation Trustee Board Member KM Mahfizur Prince, Asahay Nari Oikya Sangathan President Jhumur Begum spoke as special guests.

On this occasion, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Goaland Ghat Police Station, Pranabandhu Chandra Biswas, Traffic Police Inspector Tarak Pal, Mahia Mahi, party leader of Goalando Upazila of the third gender, along with helpless women of the eastern neighborhood of Daulatdia were present.

Jhumur Begum, president of the Helpless Women's Unity Organization, which works with sex workers, said, Habibur Rahman sir is a humanitarian. Through his Uttaran Foundation, he has been doing various services for the backward communities of the country including Hijra, Bede, helpless sex workers for a long time. Today's blanket distribution is a part of that.
