
US Embassy hands over rescue equipment to Fire Service

The US Embassy in Bangladesh handed over various types of rescue equipment to the Fire Service and Civil Defense on Sunday.
On behalf of the US Embassy, Deputy Chief of Mission Ms Megan Baldin handed over the equipment to Director General of Fire Service and Civil Defense Brigadier General Muhammad Jahed Kamal NDC, AFWC and PSC at the 'Handover Ceremony of Swift Water Rescue Equipment and Medical Supplies' held at the Fire Service and Civil Defense Training Complex.
Directors of Fire Service and Civil Defence, Principal of the Training Complex along with Fire Service and various officials of the US Embassy were present on the occasion.
Lt. Colonel Md Rezaul Karim PSC gave a welcome speech at the equipment handover ceremony.
The chief guest was Ms. Megan Boldin, Deputy Chief of Mission on behalf of the US Embassy; Brigadier General Muhammad Jahed Kamal, DG of the Fure Service gave the president's speech.
Adjutant of Training Complex Mohammad Mamun presided over the program.
After that, a list of water rescue and medical equipment was handed over to the fire service on behalf of the US Embassy.
At this time, the crest was handed over to the Chief Guest by the US Embassy to the Director General of the Department and by the Fire Service. The last invited guests collectively observed the equipment display and participated in the photo session.
It is to be noted that the handed over equipment includes 8 water rescue boats, 110 life vests, 28 custom bags, 89 carabiners, 20 flutes, 120 jump suits, 5 boxes of N-95 masks, 100 small and 100 large hazmat medical bags.
