Upazila election in Chandnaish :6 including councilors arrested, winner Jasim Uddin

Chandnaish upazila election was held on Wednesday amid some isolated incidents,
Polling started at 8 am and ended at 4 pm amid tight security. During the on-site inspection, it was seen that at 9 am, the supporters of Abu Ahmed Chowdhury outside the Jamijuri Fazil Madrasa center beat two workers of the other chairman candidate Jasim Uddin Ahmed, Md Abul Hossain (26), father Chan Mia and Mohammad Ziaur Rahman (30), father Ahmed Shafi and seriously injured them.
The people of the area immediately rescued the seriously injured people and admitted them to Dohazari Hospital. Abul Hossain, who was seriously injured, was sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital for better treatment.
At 11 o'clock due to disturbance, the police detained four outsiders from outside the center of Hashandandi Matiur Rahman Madrasa along with Councilor Pahar Uddin of Ward No. 4 of Dohazari Municipality, but they were released after the voting. On the other hand, at the same time, Chandnaish Municipality Mayor Mahabul Alam Khoka was attacked by a group of miscreants wearing black clothes, the mayor alleged.
In the election results, Jasim Uddin Ahmed Motor Cycle won by 38039 votes. His nearest rival Abu Ahmed Chowdhury got 2294 votes with horse symbol. Maulana Soleman Farooqui has won a hat-trick for the post of Vice Chairman and Khaleda Akhter Chowdhury, a joint member of Chittagong South District Awami League, has been elected unopposed for the post of Women Vice Chairman.
