Md Jahangir Alam, Dimla (Nilphamari)

Umme Salma joined as Upazila Nirbahi Officer ( UNO) at Dimla im Nilphamari on March 21. Since joining, she has been working tirelessly to accelerate various developmental activities of the upazila.

After joining as an UNO, during the exchange of views with people from different walks of life, it was seen that this honest, fearless, unassuming and good-natured man has many dreams and innovative ideas in her mind which she is determined to implement.

UNO Umme Salma wants to be constantly busy with the overall welfare of the people of the society along with the proper implementation of all the development activities of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of the current government.

She considers Dimla Upazila as his motherland and is moving ahead with specific goals in development activities.

She has sought cooperation to the local parliament member, upazila parishad chairman, vice chairman, all government officials-employees, all UP chairman and public representatives at all levels and local political leaders of the current government, representatives of civil society, teachers, freedom fighters and as well as journalists.

UNO Umm Salma wants to raise Dimla Upazila administration to a new level with new thinking and long-term planning. She is used to following government rules and regulations. They are trying to deliver the various services of the government to the doorstep of the people, including quality education system with utmost importance to education, inclusion of all in the universal pension scheme, drug, militancy, eviction and child marriage free.

Sakhina Khatun (65) of Char Kharibari village of Tepakhribari union of the upazila, who came to take service, said that my name was wrong in my birth registration card (my name was wrong in my birth registration card). Mui Union Office Thai Upazilat Aichu (I came to the Upazila from the Union Office). The big officer of the upazila called Mog Dhi Dakaiche (The big officer of the upazila saw me and called me). Uma has listened to me well (he has listened to me attentively). Sela Uma mor kaggi ak kari di hai (Then she fixed my paper). Mog ar asir nage nai (I didn't have to come anymore). May Allah bless Umar (may Allah bless her).

Upazila Nirbahi Officer Umme Salma said, what we are doing is just fulfilling the responsibility assigned to us by the government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. We are working to ensure good governance and accountability by delivering government services at the doorsteps of the people. I am seeking the full cooperation of all to bring transparent and accountable and corruption-free public administration to the doorsteps of the people for public welfare.

She also said, as an officer of the administration, I want to properly fulfill the responsibility assigned to serve the people. On behalf of the upazila administration, we want to advance Dimla upazila in all fields with the cooperation of all.

UNO Umme Salma joined the service as an officer of 35th BCS (Administration). Before joining Dimla Upazila, she was working as Senior Assistant Commissioner in Rangpur Divisional Commissioner's office. She was born in Sadar Upazila of Patuakhali. In personal life, she is the mother of two daughters
