
Two Rohingya men held with arms, ammo in Ukhiya

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested two Rohingya man with locally-made arms and ammunition from a camp in Ukhiya of Cox’s Bazar early Friday.
The arrestees are – Mohammad Jubair, 26, son of Noor Salam of Camp-5, Main-Block-C and Sub-Block-C/6, and Mohammad Shafiq, 33, son of Sona Mia of the same camp.
Armed Police Battalion (APBn)-14 Commander Additional DIG Md Iqbal said the elite force conducted drive at Camp-5, Main-Block-C and Sub-Block-C/6 and Block-D, Sub-Block D/2 under the Irani Hill Police Camp around 12.30am on Friday.
They searched the duo and found the arms that were concealed in their bodies in an innovative way.
They seized one Shooter gun, three rounds of rifle bullets, five rounds of empty bullet shells, and two cartridges of shotgun.
The arrestees were handed over to Ukhiya Police Station, said the APBn official.
