Two pedestrians including a child were killed when a passenger bus ran over them at Lalmohan in Bhola. Besides, two others were injured.

At that time, three passenger buses were vandalized by the angry crowd. The accident happened at Langalkhali bridge area of Lalmohan town on Bhola-Charfashan regional highway on Sunday at 11 am.

The deceased are - Abdul Jabbar (50), son of Karam Ali of Ward No. 9 of the Municipality and Bhuttu Mia's son of Ward No. 5 of the Municipality. Hatchnine (5).
Besides, the injured persons are - Khorsed Alam Nagar Hawladar, son of Abdul Mannan of ward number 9 of the municipality.

He was sent to Barisal for better treatment. Purun Jeet Das, son of Manoranjan of Annada Prasad area of Lordhardinge Union, is undergoing treatment at Lalmohan Upazila Health Complex in an injured condition.

Eyewitnesses said that a direct passenger bus was going from Charfashan to Bhola. When the bus got off from Langalkhali Bridge in Lalmohan, two children ran in front of it. At that time, the bus driver swerved the bus to protect the children and three pedestrians on the road were crushed. Three pedestrians including a child were seriously injured. Later they were rescued by locals and taken to Lalmohan Upazila Health Complex.

Lalmohan Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer (UHFPO) Dr. Md. Taibur Rahman said that four victims of the accident have been brought to the hospital. Two of them died, including a child. Besides, an injured person has been referred to Barisal for better treatment. The rest is under treatment at Lalmohan Upazila Health Complex.

On the other hand, three buses were vandalized by the angry crowd after the news that two people were killed in the accident. Two passenger buses including Rabbi Paribahan in front of Lalmohan Fire Service and Hasim Paribahan in front of Municipal Building were vandalized.

Lalmohan Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Md. Enayet Hossain confirmed this information and said that a police team visited the spot after receiving the information.

The bus that hit the pedestrians has been impounded. Legal action is under process in this incident.
