
Two Jubo Dal leaders sent to jail in Rangpur

Rangpur City Jubo Dal joint convener Muhammad Zahir Alam Nayan and district Jubo Dal Vice President Tarek Hasan Sohag who were sentenced to 10 years in the case of corruption surrendered to the court on Tuesday morning and the judge of Rangpur Additional District and Sessions Judge Court-1 sent them to jail.
According to the sources, five BNP leaders were sentenced to 10 years in prison and fined Tk 10,000 in Rangpur on November 20, 2023 in the case of sabotage, cocktail and bomb during the hartal called during the 2023 anti-government movement.
In view of this, when 2 leaders of Juba Dal surrendered to the court yesterday, the court sent them to jail.
Advocate Mahfuz Un Nabi Don, the lawyer present in the court and member secretary of Metropolitan BNP, said that the accused have been sentenced by a formal verdict after making a false case. When the youth leaders surrendered to the court, the court sent them to jail.
