Two-day International Quiz Fest begins at DU

A two-day International Quiz Fest, organized by the Dhaka University Quiz Society, commenced on Wednesday at TSC .
The event was inaugurated by Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan, who attended as the chief guest.
Presided over by the President of the Dhaka University Quiz Society, Wasi Ahmed, the opening ceremony featured speeches from special guests, including the society’s Moderator, Associate Professor Muhammad Mahbub Kaysar, and the Acting Director of TSC, Mrs. Farzana Basar. The General Secretary of the society, Imon Mohtasin, delivered the welcome address.
In his remarks, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan wished the fest success, stating that quizzes play a vital role in fostering critical thinking among students. He expressed optimism that the event would promote unity and harmony among participants from Bangladesh and abroad.
The quiz fest features competitions across inter-school, inter-college, and inter-university categories, with 100 teams participating. Additionally, 30 teams are competing in the Mega Quiz, and 70 teams are taking part in the Intra-University Quiz. Competitors from 11 countries, including India, Pakistan, Nepal, Myanmar, and the Philippines, are joining the fest virtually.
