
Two-day Baishakhi Fair organized by Army Region in Rangamati

Pahela Baishakh is a universal folk festival of Bengali. To welcome the Bengali New Year in a joyful atmosphere, a two-day long "Baishakhi Mela-1431" was organized at the training grounds of 11 East Bengal with the participation of all units under Rangamati Region 305 Infantry Brigade.
Rangamati Region Commander Brigadier General Sohail Ahmed, SPP, AFWC, PSC inaugurated the fair on Sunday morning by cutting the ribbon, flying balloons and doves as symbols of peace as the chief guest.
Senior army officers and army personnel along with their families were present. After the inauguration, the chief guest visited various stalls of the fair.
The fair will be open to all visitors from Sunday (April 14) morning. The mela has Pahela Boishakh bahari food, panta/hilsa, different types of pies, various games including monkey play, snake play, puppet dance, bioscope, handicraft exhibition and nagar dola stalls.
Apart from this, the fair has organized a fascinating cultural program with the participation of selected artists and students of Lakers Public School. Region authorities have said that such activities will continue in the future to establish good relations between the Paharis and Bengalis.
