Training, drills on fire fighting in Juri

On the occasion of the upcoming Happy Christmas, training and drills on fire fighting were held in Juri upazila of Moulvibazar to increase the awareness of the heads of Christian churches about fire safety.
On Saturday (December 22) afternoon, this training and exercise was held with the heads of 17 churches of the upazila organized by Juri Fire Service and Civil Defense Station.
The chief negotiator was Juri Fire Service and Civil Defense Station in-charge SM Shamim.
At that time Upazila Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council joint general secretary and President of North Kuchaithal Punji Church of God Michael Nongrum, President of Juri Rangbah Balang Association and Elbintila Punji Catholic Church Amrush Sangma, general secretary of Church of God Juri-Barlekha region Provinson Suchiang, Elbintila Punji Presbyterian Church President Bing Marlia, Church of God President Sowing Amlenrong, Lahun Punji Presbyterian Church President Robin Surong, Jamkandi Catholic Church General Secretary Saju Tapan and other church presidents and fire station officials were present.
Chief negotiator SM Shamim discussed the definition of fire, characteristics, causes of fire, fire extinguishing and self protection techniques. He first demonstrated fire fighting techniques and called for the installation of fire extinguishers in all establishments. Besides, the contact numbers of fire service and civil defense stations are given to everyone.
