Trailer of Jaya’s debut Hindi film ‘Kadak Singh’ unveiled at IFFI

Entertainment Desk

The trailer of noted Bangladeshi actor Jaya Ahsan-starrer maiden Bollywood film ‘Kadak Singh’ was unveiled at the opening day of the 54th International Film Festival (IFFI) on Monday.

The star cast of the film, Pankaj Tripathi, Jaya Ahsan, Parvathy Thiruvothu and Sanjana Sanghi also attended the event.

Popular Bollywood actor Pankaj Tripathi has played the titular role in the Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury-directed film. The trailer of the movie promises a captivating narrative that explores the complexities of identity.

The trailer suggests the film revolves around Kadak Singh, portrayed by Tripathi, a Joint Director at the Department of Financial Crimes grappling with retrograde amnesia. The narrative unfolds as Kadak Singh is admitted to the hospital, encountering four conflicting narratives about his past that force him to question reality. The trailer also hints that Kadak Singh might not be the victim in the story.

Jaya Ahsan portrays Kadak Singh’s girlfriend in the film. Talking to an Indian media she said, “This film and the character I played as an actress was very new, fresh and indeed an enriching experience for me. The whole team and the ensemble I got to work with specially Pankaj ji was incredible. As a director, Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury was always one on my bucket list, to get to collaborate with him and attempt to make a step in a new industry, a different language was very exciting and also very challenging for me.”

Kadak Singh is scheduled to premiere on ZEE5 on 8 December.

The 54th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) kicked off in Goa on Monday.
