
Traditional Rash Puja begins in Kuakata

Rash Purnima puja and holy bath, which has been going on for hundreds of years for Hindus, was held at Sagarkanya Kuakata from on Monday.

Meanwhile, extensive preparations have been made by the Rash Mela organizing committee and administration to welcome the pilgrims and visitors coming for the Ganga bathing and Ras Festival of Hindus.
On Sunday, it was seen that the idols of Sri Sri Radha Krincha Temple have been decorated in the manner of painting the idols in front of Rash Utsav. To participate in the fair, floating shopkeepers from different areas are already coming to Kuakata with fair goods.
In previous years, this fair used to gather around lakhs of people of different religions and castes. Two years of corona and now political instability. There is discomfort among the organizers. There is no shortage of organizers to accommodate fans, but Sanka is also working on attendance due to strikes and blockades.
According to information sources, the Patuakhali district administration, local administration and Kuakata municipality have already met in stages to complete the Ganga bathing and Rasmela festival.
Various security arrangements have been made by the administration to ensure the safety of the large number of pilgrims and visitors arriving. Check posts have been installed at various points on the Kalapara-Kuakata highway. According to police administration sources, Ansar, RAB, various intelligence agencies have been deployed to ensure perfect security along with the police.
On the other hand, the hotels, motels and tourism-oriented businesses have completed preparations in front of the gathering of thousands of pilgrims and visitors coming to the Gangesan and Ras Mela.
Talking about this, Sri Sri Radha Krinch Mandir director and priest Shishir Maharaj said that thousands of devotees will start this Ras Puja on Sunday, November 26 with the Maha Naam Yagya of Sri Krinch, and on Monday afternoon, November 27, after the Naam Yajna of Sri Krinch, Ras will be performed in the bath.

Care will be taken to ensure that no hotelier can exploit the excess visitor pressure by capitalizing on it.
Kuakata Tourist Police Zone OC Hasnain Parvez said, I will do whatever I can to bring this age-old religious festival to a smooth and orderly end. We will create a security zone around Kuakata's tourist spots and temples.
Kuakata Mayor Anwar Howladar said, we are constantly engaged in the security of tourists and pilgrims coming on the occasion of Rash Mela and the administration has also made all kinds of preparations.
