
Tk 3.14cr to be paid to 314 surrendered extremists Tuesday

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) will pay Tk 3.14 crore to 314 former members of different extremist organisations as they returned to normal life after surrendering to the elite force.
Each of them will be paid Tk one lakh, ANM Imran Khan, media officer-2 of RAB Headquarters told the Daily Sun.
He said Director General (DG) of the RAB M Khurshid Hossain will distribute cheques of the money among the surrendered individuals at RAB-12 Headquarters in Sirajganj tomorrow (Tuesday).
On May 21 this year, the 314 extremists of Tangail, Sirajganj, Pabna, Bogura, Kushtia, Meherpur and Rajbari surrendered to the force in presence of Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal in Sirajganj with 200 firearms and huge bullets.
After that, the RAB DG sought Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s assistance for the employment of the surrendered people.
Then, Tk 3.14 crore was given from the Prime Minister’s Relief and Welfare Fund, said Imran.
The cheques will be distributed among the individuals, he added.
