The aspirations and reality of July Uprising
Shudir Baran Mazi
The July Uprising was carried out with the aspirations of the people and we are gradually moving away from the realization of those aspirations. The idea was that life and livelihood would be guaranteed, life security would be ensured, the rule of law would be established. The right to education would be ensured, social dignity would be established through the reduction of social and economic inequality.
The violence of market syndicates would be eradicated, the proliferation of adulteration would decrease, services from government institutions would be easily available, and medical treatment would be guaranteed. But no, everything of fascism remains as before. The idea was to conduct activities impartially. They would ensure equal opportunities and justice for all without favoritism towards any political party. Maintaining the security and stability of the country. They should ensure that all necessary positive steps are taken and implemented to keep the law and order situation under control and ensure peace and order in society. The state will play the highest positive role in the issue of freedom of speech and freedom and impartiality of the media. But on the contrary, our history, tradition, and freedom of speech of the Liberation War have faced an existential crisis. The incidents of mob justice have increased abnormally.
There is no remedy, but rather revenge is increasing. Darkness is gradually approaching. Day by day we are becoming more violent and destructive. In post-independence Bangladesh, we have seen that the amount of murder, disappearance, extortion, and rape has increased exponentially after the change of power. The mass uprising of 24 was not an exception. During these times, the amount of torture, arson, and rape in religious minority families is relatively high. Which is not desirable for any conscientious person.
People have fought against the tyrannical, fascist rule and exploitation, and have given their lives for democratic rule. But the activities of the interim government have disappointed people. Contrary to the aspirations of the mass uprising, it has created confusion in the public mind about the role of the government. Religious extremism, harassment of women, rape of children, murder, disappearances, rape are on the rise. Homelessness has turned into a social disease. The people are seeing the failure of promises, undemocratic repression in the name of democracy. Unilateral rule is being carried out in the name of democracy, freedom of expression is gradually being curtailed. The exploited people are lost. The deeper the crisis deepens, the more the question arises - for whom is this regime? Whose interests is it protecting? A permanent and more rational solution to the ongoing crisis and unstable situation is necessary.
The highest good for the state is not to let the ongoing crisis continue. If the leadership makes a mistake, the common people have to pay the price. Our main goal should be to build a safe and developed state for our future generations. Reforms are needed for the masses. For the socio-economic development and progress of the state. Where every citizen will have the right to a safe, respected and prosperous life.
Social scientist Professor Dr. Nehal Karim said, "99 percent of the people in Bangladesh have not been properly socialized. As a result, there is inconsistency and discrimination in all professions. What is needed now is strong political will and effective policies. To establish the rule of justice, the administration must be transparent, accountable and people-friendly. The foundation of good governance must be strengthened by eliminating the culture of impunity. It is important to ensure the freedom of expression of citizens to form a prosperous, peaceful and just state. If opportunities for constructive criticism, differences of opinion and democratic practice are not created, repression will increase, which will further complicate the crisis. Now is the time to move forward on the basis of unity rather than dividing the nation. To eliminate social, political and economic inequality. Effective reforms, assurance of justice and a neutral and responsible role of policymakers are needed.
We must move forward on the path of building a modern nation through a combination of education, culture and technology. We must build a strong society through a combination of education, morality and technology, where every citizen enjoys equal opportunities and rights. Leadership should listen to the people, give importance to their needs and dreams, and work with a spirit of service. Everyone must work together to ensure that our future generations have a safe, humane, and prosperous country. Leadership must understand that the aspirations of the people are the ultimate goal—it is the responsibility of a true statesman to respect those aspirations. A self-reliant nation must be built by expanding education, health, and economic opportunities. Awareness and patriotism must be awakened among citizens so that they are aware of their rights and responsibilities. Only by strengthening the foundation of justice, good governance, and equality in society can we move forward on the path of true progress. Leadership should follow the principles of honesty, accountability, and responsibility to gain the trust of the people. It is also important to be aware of not only development, but also that it is sustainable and inclusive.
To develop the new generation as skilled, creative, and responsible citizens, we must invest in the development of education and culture. We must move forward with the highest importance not only for personal or group interests, but also for national interests. Only then will we be a We can build a peaceful, prosperous and dignified country. We must establish equality and justice in society through the practice of morality, values and human qualities. With the collective efforts of everyone, we can build a happy, prosperous and democratic future.
