Terrible fire in Kalirbazar: 30 shops burnt to ashes in N’ganj

A terrible fire has occurred in Kalirbazar spice rack of Narayanganj city. At least 30 shops were gutted in the fire. No one was injured in the fire, but a fire service worker was injured while fighting the fire.
The fire started on Sunday at around 11:30 pm. The fire spread quickly after that. Panic spread in the city after seeing the flames. The fire was brought under control around 1.00 am after an hour and a half effort of five units of two fire service stations.
Fakhar Uddin, Deputy Assistant Director of Narayanganj Fire Service and Civil Defense, said that a spice shop first caught fire in Kalir Bazar's No. 1 lane. After that, fire spread to at least 30 shops, including grocery shops, egg shops, plastic shops and hardware shops.
At that time, hundreds of people of the area including the residents of the surrounding buildings came out on the streets. On receiving the information, five units of Mandolpara and Hajiganj stations of the fire service started extinguishing the fire. The fire came under control at one in the morning after their efforts of one and a half hours.
Fire service official said, apart from this, the origin of the fire, how many shops have caught fire and the amount of damage will be known after the investigation.
