A complaint of irregularities has been filed against Khairunnesa Eva, an assistant teacher at West Batkajal Government Primary School No. 221 in Nawmala Union of Bauphal Upazila of Patuakhali. She has not attended to school since her joining.

She signs the attendance book every month and leaves. The issue has created anger among the teachers and students of the school. According to the concerned sources, Khairunnesa Eva joined the school on February 24, 2023 as a pre-primary class teacher.

This is her first joining after being appointed to a primary school job. She has not taken classes at the school since joining. She goes to school every month and leaves after signing the attendance book. Several parents said that there are a total of 5 teachers in this school, including the head teacher.

Khairunnesa Eva is a pre-primary class teacher. Pre-primary class students are in trouble because she does not come to school. The school's teaching is being disrupted. Several students said, "We don't know any teacher named Khairunnesa Eva. We have never seen her." The acting headmaster of the school, Anjuman Ara, admitted the matter and said that currently there are more than a hundred students in his school.

The remaining teachers are struggling to manage the classes. Moreover, Khairunnesa Eva is a trained teacher of pre-primary class. It is impossible to manage the pre-primary class without her. It is also a shame that her class is imposed on other teachers. The matter has been reported to the Upazila Education Office.

A source said that Khairunnesa Eva is spreading influence by introducing herself as the sister-in-law of an influential official of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education. Therefore, she has not been attending classes since joining. She has been coming to the school every month and signing the attendance book. Although the Upazila Education Office is aware of the matter, legal action is not being taken against Khairunnesa Eva.

Former president of the school's managing committee, Subhash Chandra Howlader, said, "I cannot accept that the students of this school located in Azparagaon should be deprived of teaching in any way.

I seek the intervention of the Upazila Education Officer, including senior officials, to take immediate action regarding the absent assistant teacher Khairunnesa Eva." However, denying the allegations, assistant teacher Khairunnesa Eva said, "I go to school regularly. Sometimes, I was on deputation (attachment) to another school for a few days." When asked whether there was any official order for the deputation, she evaded.

Upazila Assistant Education Officer Waliul Islam, in charge of that cluster, said, "Teaching is being disrupted because Khairunnesa Eva is not going to that school."

Upazila Education Officer Atiqul Islam said, the matter will be reported to senior officials and action will be taken as soon as possible."
