Ujjal Roy, Central General Secretary of Bangladesh Workers' Federation presided over and Sushant Sinha Sumon, Central Member Secretary of Democratic Workers' Movement conducted the Rally.
senior labor leaders, National Workers' Struggle Council, Central Coordinator, Manjurul Ahsan Khan, Central President of Bangladesh Workers' Federation, Zahirul Islam addressed the rally. , National Labor Federation Bangladesh Central Committee General Secretary Shamim Imam, Bangladesh Labor Federation Central Committee General Secretary A.A. M. Fayez Hossain, Adviser of Tea Workers' 10-point Struggle Central Committee Abdullah Kafi Ratan, Democratic Workers' Movement Central Committee Convenor Apu Das Gupta, National Workers' Federation Bangladesh Sylhet District President Siraj Ahmad, Tea Workers' Rights Movement Central Convener Hridesh Mudi, Tea Workers' 10-point Implementation Sabuj Tati, central convenor of the struggle committee, Biren Singh, president of Bangladesh Tea Workers Federation, Sylhet district.
Speakers in the rally said, on one hand, the farce of the owners on the minimum wages of the garment workers, on the other hand, the gazette against the interests of the tea workers is violating the interests of the workers in every case. Killing of workers by indiscriminate firing by the police fueled by the owner class has become a tool to suppress the movement today.
After five long years in this inflationary market, the garment workers demanded their fair wages of Rs 25,000, but the newly announced wage structure has made a 'farce' with the demands of the workers. The pay structure announced by the government and employers in the current new grading rules is a travesty for skilled workers. According to the previous wages, the wages of senior operative workers with increments were more than 11 thousand rupees, but in the new wage structure, according to grade 4, their wages are 13 thousand 25 rupees. The BGB-Police fired indiscriminately on a peaceful march of workers rejecting this 'farce' wage structure. The leaders demanded justice for this heinous murder.
The workers were called upon to accept the demand of 25,000 Tk. Similarly the minimum wage of tea workers is also a kind of farce as the Rs 170 wage of tea workers implies. In the statement, he called for an immediate movement for the 11-point demands of the National Workers' Work Struggle Council, including immediate trial for the killing of workers and 25,000 rupees salary, cancellation of the Essential Services Bill-2023, making the daily wage of tea workers 500 rupees.
