
Tawhidul Islam elected Khulna Divisional Journalists Forum President, Nasir Ahmed Gen Secy

Tawhidul Islam Mintu, Executive Editor of banglanews24.com and Nasir Ahmad Rasel, former Executive Editor of Sheershanews.com have been elected as President and General Secretary of the Khulna Divisional Journalists Forum (KDJF) Dhaka respectively.
The biennial general meeting and election of the KDJF Dhaka was held on Saturday (April 26) at the Maulana Mohammad Akram Khan Hall of the National Press Club in Dhaka.
All members of the new committee were elected unopposed.
Chief Election Commissioner Syed Didar Bakht announced the results, alongside fellow commissioners Amirul Islam Kagoji and Sultan Mahmud.
The meeting, chaired by outgoing President Sheikh Nazrul Islam, also approved the biennial report presented by General Secretary Sheikh Rizvi Newaz.
Following the announcement of the election results, Sheikh Nazrul formally handed over responsibilities to the new leadership.
The newly elected committee includes: Vice President Khalid Saifullah (Naya Diganta) and Al Mamun Khan (Business Star), Joint General Secretary Tanvir Ahmed (banglanews24.com) and Mustafizur Rahman Sumon (Rupali Bangladesh), Treasurer Rahman Aziz (Daily Nirapekkha), Organizing Secretary Habibur Rahman (Ekhan TV), Office Secretary Abdul Halim (Daily Janata), Welfare Secretary Md Akhtaruzzaman Gazi Akhtar (Desh Bartaman), Publicity Secretary Muttakinur Rahman (Kaler Kantho), Sports Secretary Mujahidul Islam Antu Mujahid (Kalbela) and Cultural Secretary Milan Mahmud Robi (Banglavision)
Speaking at the event, Chief Election Commissioner Syed Didar Bakht urged members to work for the development of Khulna, noting the region’s strong revenue contributions but comparatively low expenditure.
In his address, outgoing President Sheikh Nazrul Islam acknowledged criticisms but said the organization had worked collectively without discrimination.
Outgoing General Secretary Rizvi Newaz highlighted achievements over the past two years, including organizing events and creating a website for the Forum, despite challenges due to political unrest.
Former General Secretary Mursalin Nomani called for greater unity among Khulna Division journalists and emphasized the need to strengthen district-level committees to bolster the Forum’s activities.
