Body formed to ensure autonomy of BTV, Betar; review media policies

A five-member committee, headed by Education Adviser CR Abrar, has been formed to prepare a roadmap on the autonomy of the state-owned Bangladesh Television (BTV) and Bangladesh Betar.

The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus at the State Guest House Jamuna on Thursday.

The committee was formed as per the recommendations of the Media Reform Commission, according to the Chief Adviser’s press wing.

The committee will work to prepare a roadmap for implementing the recommendations of the Media Reform Commission and will also review the policies of television and other media of the last 15 years and formulate future policies.

The other members of the committee are Law Adviser Asif Nazrul, Environment Adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Road Transport and Bridges Adviser Muhammad Fauzul Kabir Khan, Housing and Public Works Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan.
