A non-political welfare voluntary social organization of Greater Sylhet Sylhet Kalyan Sanstha, Sylhet Division Youth Welfare Organization and Sylhet Prabasi Kalyan Sanstha jointly organized a review meeting at the central office in the Sylhet city on Friday.

Speakers in the review meeting said that the Youth Development Department is working to make the youth a self-reliant trained youth through training. Directorate of Youth Development is a department under the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh.

The department is working under government management to train youth in various trades and establish them as entrepreneurs. Youth Development Directorate Sylhet district office conducts training programs in 26 trades. But the way the office and training programs are supposed to be promoted is not the case. Because a few known brokers keep everything axed. They are interfering in all the activities of Youth Development Directorate Sylhet district office including training. No activity should be completed without their presence.

Each event sees the presence of identified brokers. For them, the promotion and expansion of the Youth Development Department, including training programs, is severely hampered. National best youth medalists and departmental achievement medalists are neglected due to brokers. The youth of Sylhet wants to see the Youth Development Department freed from the hostage status of brokers. The speaker also said that the Directorate of Youth Development is working with brokers, ignoring the recipients of the National Youth Award. If the Directorate of Youth Development is not made free of brokers soon, a strict program will be announced in front of the Sylhet District Office of the Directorate of Youth Development.
