Islami Andolan Bangladesh Naib-e- Amir Mufti Muhammad Faizul Karim Sheikhe Charmonai said that Sylhet's stone quarry has been closed due to India's conspiracy.

The brokers of India, who are attacking the government and administration under the pretext of destroying the environment, are involved in a conspiracy to paralyze the country by upholding the decision of the fallen Awami government. He said that if all stone quarries in Sylhet which are closed are not opened, the demands will be collected through agitation with the people. He appealed to the interim government to open stone quarries as soon as possible.

He said this in the speech of the chief guest at an exchange meeting of Sylhet journalists at an elite restaurant in the city on Saturday (December 7) at 10 o'clock.

The central convenor of Pathar Sramik Bachao Andolan journalist Abul Hossain was present in the exchange meeting among others, Islamic Movement Sylhet coordinator Hafez Maulana Mahmudul Hasan, Acting President of Sylhet Metropolitan Dr. Riazul Islam Riaz, advisor of Pathar Sramik Bachao Andolon and senior joint convener of Dhaka Metropolitan Bar Ed. Ariz Ahmed, Joint Convener Journalist, Rotarian Shahjahan Salim Bulbul, Organizing Secretary of Sylhet District Truck Workers Union Machum Ahmad Lashkar, Rahaduzzaman etc.

Faizul Karim also said that because all the stone quarries of Sylhet are closed, the river has lost its navigability, on the other hand, the whole country including Sylhet is affected by severe floods every year. Stone quarries have been closed due to India's conspiracy. He said that the fascist Sheikh Hasina made the country a part of India.

He questioned the government and said that ignoring the demands of environmentalists, the Awami government set up thermal power plants to please India. Dhaka has become uninhabitable. Although Dhaka's environment is damaged, the government is not taking measures to protect Buriganga. But the stone quarries have been closed, destroying the employment of millions of people. The freedom-loving people of this country cannot accept the decision of the fascist, fallen Awami government. Inshallah, the demand will be realized through the movement.
