Sylhet District and Metropolitan BNP staged a protest rally in the city on Thursday (June 6) night after rejecting the budget for the fiscal year 2024-2025. The immediate procession started from Sylhet Court Point and ended at Zindabazar.

The speakers said that the dummy budget of the dummy government formed through dummy elections has already been rejected by the people of Bangladesh. This government has been clinging to power for years without a public mandate. Jatiya Sangsad's proposed budget for 2024-25 financial year is 'new plan of money loot' of dummy government. The country is now in the hands of robbers. This budget is also for looters.

The budget has been planned to plunder the country's money anew. This budget will not bring any change in the quality of life of farmers, laborers and ordinary people. So the people of Bangladesh have rejected the budget announced by us. We have no hope from this illegitimate government without public support. We expect that only the government elected in the democratic process by the votes of the people can provide a people-friendly budget.
